Marketing becomes part of one’s photography whether one wants money, Fame, Recognition, or merely to share or show-off.  Right now, there’s submitting photodigitals for a juried Photography Art Show-Open.  But what’s the marketing in that-one might wonder. Juried means it’s reviewed by someone who is related to the Industry–someone who has been someone.  Yet, do they judge based on a universal/global standard or personal preference standards?  What is their background?  Do they prefer images along the line of what they do or can they get jealous and shun work similar to theirs or along the line of what they do?-Ernie Moore Jr.

If one is a category photographer it might be good.  I’d heard juried shows might  want cohesiveness.  How this matters: I entered the first photography show they had here.  Others were selected over me and even digitally altered works which I do not by definition accept/consider as Photography.  Four submissions, one photograph each…layered works consisting of several photo-images is a technique photographers might use -Orton-Effect sort of thing.  It becomes graphic design.  A graphic designer uses images-photographs to alter, in non-what-was-there ways. !!(Alert) [Rant]!!-Ernie Moore Jr.

My what I do shows what was there while the shutter was open for that one shot.  I think I take it to a not-too-seen before-level while staying Photography.  If Photography will accept digital non-camera processing not to include cropping and white balance or light filters (these can be done at a camera, pre-shot). And one can cut the edges off of a photograph/negative sort-of-thing.  I make no changes after the shutter closes.  And this is how it should be to call it Photography–pre shot or shot concurrent, yet Not post shot [cropping at worst-although with recent projects I might use Inkscape sort-of-thing to turn an image upright.  Where I would not use a slightly askew image even if there was otherwise perfect composition].   !!(Whew) [end Rant)!!-Ernie Moore Jr.

What’s good about a one category shooter is having images that feel as though they go together.  A Photographer with multi category style or varied technique images…Let me just talk about me.  I shoot sky, Nature, stop motion,camera motion, event, profile, reflections.  But which ones to choose.  So I’m saying from my first run at this I decided pick a style and you get picked because the judge can at least use several of your own works for a section that is similar.-Ernie Moore Jr.

This show was easier as I was prompted to enter by the artist who’s work I’d been camera motioning.  That would be easy except that Camera Motion Image Captures of different paintings can give a different vibe although it’s Camera Motion. [I suppose it’s my comprehending that Camera Motion Image Capture can have differing styles].  I looked-up the judge and will submit works along the studies I’ve seen the judge work-on.  Images I think will appeal to that person, given the work I’ve seen they do.-Ernie Moore Jr.
